full details of the Festival: Clunes Book Town Festival: March 23 & 24, 2024

Ballarat Writers Inc will be running a stall in the Union Bank Arts Centre for the duration of the Clunes book festival 2024.

Following the good interest and sales at our BWI stall at Ballarat Springfest 2023 (despite the awful weather) we are optimistic that Clunes 2024 is going to be good fun.

Members are invited to:

  • Sell your publications
  • Volunteer on the stall: chat to interested folks, sell books, enjoy the vibe
  • Come and say hello!

This year there’s no entry fee to the festival (just to ticketed events such as author talks and so on) so we anticipate a good passing crowd of visitors and locals all interested in all things writerly. We have an indoor space so wild weather won’t bother us. Books can be sold for cash or via a ‘square’ for card sales, following the same procedures we used last year.

Selling: members may sell new publications that contain their own work. This can be as single author or an anthology that includes your work. Charge for your presence on the stall is $20.00 for the first title, and $10.00 for each subsequent title. You’re invited to include some marketing material such as bookmarks etc along with your book/s, and to take a turn on the stall to chat to fans and prospective fans. You’re also invited to promote this BWI event through your own social media/newsletters/fan base. Pricing is requested to be rounded off to the nearest $5.00 if possible to make cash sales manageable.

Email to bookstall@ballaratwriters.com to be included in this event, including the number of titles you’ll have, any questions, and your availability to take a turn on the stall. I’ll confirm delivery/collection times and other details closer to the date.

Volunteering: helping hands are invited to join for an hour or so, or a whole day. We will need helpers to * bring in merchandise and BWI branded information on Friday afternoon, *cover the stall, handle sales, and chat to interested visitors during the hours of the festival, *break-down on Sunday late afternoon.
